Dr. Liz Kuttner, PT, DPT, NCS, CBIS

Liz Kuttner earned her doctorate of physical therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona in 2013. However, her career in physical therapy began years earlier when she got her associate's degree as a physical therapist assistant right out of high school. Throughout her 15 years in the field, neurology has been her passion. Liz went on to get additional certifications as a neurologic certified specialist (NCS) and a certified brain injury specialist (CBIS).

Growing up on a small town in Nebraska, Liz was always active with her friends and family - playing all kinds of sports. But it wasn't until she met her husband, Sean, that her love for weightlifting really blossomed. This love for functional movement and lifting has shifted the way she works with her patients.

Liz's current passion lies in preventative medicine. Her desire is to help people avoid the chronic health issues plaguing our society by introducing people to delicious, healthy food options and the joy of movement. She is currently studying for a certification in nutrition coaching (CNC).

We are looking forward to getting to know you, your goals, and walking through this journey with you as a team.

Sean Kuttner, CPT, PTA

Sean Kuttner grew up in Jacksonville, Florida spending most of his time on the beach, fishing, and running the shoreline.  At a young age he began training in the martial arts style of Tae Kwon Do, earning his first black belt at 14, and becoming the World Champion in his age group at the age of 17.

As an instructor in Tae Kwon Do, Sean taught children as young as 3 self defense and adults ages 80 and above a gentler way of fitness.  When Sean graduated high school, he enlisted into the United States Army, deploying to Iraq twice.  Once as an infantryman team leader, leading security details and small scale personnel extraction.  Sean was also sought out for military fitness regiments to allow his fellow soldiers to succeed in monthly personal fitness tests.

Once Sean’s contract was completed, he strived to continue finding a way to get people back to a life they could appreciate.  He learned of Physical Therapy and began his studies in Kapio’lani, Hawaii to become a Physical Therapist Assistant.  While in Hawaii, he was selected to conduct a clinical internship at the Rehabilitaion Hospital of the Pacific.  Once completed, he was offered a job working with patients suffering from subacute neurological deficits: spinal cord injuries, strokes, and traumatic brain injuries.  He also has a background in treating general reconditioning, orthopedic deficits, and post amputation.

Sean and his wife moved to Colorado for a new sense of adventure and to be more accessible to their family.  They and their dog, Potato, are learning how to survive in the snow and extreme heat.  They are learning to and looking forward to skiing, snowmobile rides, high desert hikes, and all the secrets the Western Slope has to offer.

As a Physical Therapy Assistant and Personal Trainer, Sean provides a wide range of expertise in carrying out programs for patients/clients with orthopedic conditions and neurologic conditions. Additionally, he coaches for FIT Grand Junction's Balance and FIT classes, founded the FIT to Defend self defense program, and offers professional coaching.
